For all our products that replace a conventional product in a single-use plastic bottle (all our cleaners, dishwashing liquid, rinse aid, shower gel, hand soap), we count one saved single-use plastic bottle per sold tablet or sachet.
Here, we calculate the amount of laundry detergent powder saved through reduced dosing compared to conventional detergents.
Most other detergents recommend using more detergent in harder water to increase the water softener's share. However, in doing so, you also overdose on unnecessary surfactants, enzymes, and fillers.
In contrast, you can order our detergents online with water hardness tailored to your postal code: soft, medium, or hard. This allows us to provide the same dosage for different water hardness levels. To calculate the saved chemicals, we compare our dosage with the average dosage of commercial powder detergents based on water hardness (soft, medium, hard). When using everdrop detergent for hard water, the chemical savings are particularly high, as described above.
While we offer our detergents in retail without the water hardness concept, we still save on chemistry due to our compact formulation. Here, we compare our dosage recommendation based on water hardness with the conventional dosing recommendation. All calculations are performed in grams (instead of milliliters) to ensure the best possible comparability. TÜV Rheinland has examined and confirmed the traceability, transparency, consistency, and limitations of the calculations and documentation we conducted for this sustainability metric. This is the total area of plastic film saved by everdrop products – because we deliver products without wrapping them in film, which is the usual practice for items like these.

All everdrop products completely avoid single-use plastic and unnecessary chemicals, reducing up to 95% of CO2 emissions. Our range includes household products (such as cleaning tabs, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet cleaner, accessories) and, with our line everdrop NATURAL CARE, also natural cosmetics (hand soap and shower gel).
Together with our community, we have already achieved remarkable results: More than 14 million single-use plastic bottles, over 1700 tons of unnecessary chemical raw materials, and over 450 tons of CO2 have been saved through our products so far.
