Our dishwasher tabs come completely without plastic film or cover, which is why we call them "Naked Tabs". Most dishwasher tabs on the market have a water-soluble film made of PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). Why do we do without it? For three reasons:

1. More environmentally friendly production

The production of PVA film already consumes enormous energy and resources. Therefore, in production, one should also refrain from anything that is not absolutely necessary.

2. Fewer environmental burdens

Although PVA films dissolve and are therefore not considered microplastics, they are often marketed as biodegradable". This means that a substance can be broken down by the environment within 28 days - however, this is tested under ideal conditions, which are rarely found in reality. Therefore, biodegradable ingredients should only be used when absolutely necessary.

3. Raising awareness

With all our everdrop products, we want to show that conventional household products often use completely unnecessary plastic. Our Naked Tabs prove that dishwasher tabs also work perfectly without film!

Stiftung Warentest has published the results of the test of 15 brands in the January 2024 issue, awarding everdrop the test winner with the highest score. The everdrop tabs have prevailed against 14 established brands in at least 200 washes and even won category top marks twice. Testing was carried out in the following categories: cleaning, limescale, material conservation, water pollution and packaging usability.

Top rated flushing power (1.9)

With their 2-phase active complex, the everdrop dishwasher tabs were able to convince in the field test across the board when it came to performance. Because they also remove stubborn dirt and baked in easily. So, whether it’s casserole, lasagne or pasta – the everdrop tabs remove everything easily and even better than any other with a top score of 1. 9 for cleaning performance.

Top grade water pollution (1.6)

The special feature of our “Naked Tabs” is that they do not require plastic packaging or water-soluble PVA film. In addition, they also completely eliminate microplastics and harmful substances such as phosphates, chlorine or the silver preservative benzotriazole and instead rely on 100% plant-based surfactants. As a result, they were also able to get the highest score in terms of water pollution (1. 6) and are thus more environmentally friendly than the 14 other brands in the test.

The Warentest Foundation was founded in 1964 by the German Bundestag for the protection of consumers and its independence is guaranteed by the state.
