For all our products that replace a conventional product in a single-use plastic bottle (all our cleaners, dishwashing liquids, rinse aids, shower gel, hand soap), we count one saved single-use plastic bottle per tab or sachet sold.
Here we count the chemicals that our laundry detergents save. By chemicals, we mean those ingredients that we eliminate completely or use in reduced amounts: mainly surfactants, enzymes and fillers.
Most other detergents recommend that the harder the water, the more detergent you use to increase the amount of water softener. But at the same time, you are overdosing on unnecessary surfactants, enzymes and fillers.
Our detergents, on the other hand, can be ordered online with the water hardness adjusted to your zip code: soft, medium or hard. This allows us to provide the same dosage for different water hardnesses. To calculate the chemicals saved, we compare our dosage with the average dosage of commercial powder detergents depending on the water hardness (soft, medium, hard). When using everdrop detergent for hard water, the savings of chemicals as described above are particularly high.
In retail we offer our detergents without the water hardness concept, but even there we save chemicals due to our compact formulation. Here, we compare our dosage recommendation depending on water hardness with the commercial dosage recommendation. All calculations are made in grams (instead of milliliters) to ensure the best possible comparability. TÜV Rheinland has verified and confirmed the traceability, transparency, coherence and existing limitations of the calculations and documentation we have carried out for this sustainability indicator. Our founders
To “de-plastify" our own homes – that was an idea we were pretty excited about in 2019. From this very idea, everdrop was born: A company around sustainable household products that make it easy for everyone to live a plastic waste-free everyday life! Less than three years later, we have already achieved a lot, together with our community. And we have ambitious goals: By 2024, we want to have made at least five million households more sustainable and, together with our community, saved at least 50 million single-use plastic bottles. In doing so, we want to pursue our vision: To make sustainable everyday life so simple that it becomes the new standard. We're on our way to a more sustainable, eco-friendly future.
